Frostbike 08

  Well last weekend was the Quality Bicycle Products open house, AKA Frostbike 08.

  It was the warmest FB I have ever seen, it was more than 25 degrees most of the time. That is a huge departure from the usual sub zero temperatures.  The first thing I saw was Amy C's bag. AWESOME, covered in silk screened photo's of all the local miscreants. Sorry I couldn't get you a better photo.  Also present was RockShox' new SID in a sexy blue with matching AVID Juicy's. Oh, and Cheever.  Axiom had a cool new rear rack mounted, quick release basket.  You can see Mark getting in the way of my picture.  But the basket is pretty sweet. (they are not in stock yet, I already tried). There were two big dummies on display. I thought it was weird they were right next to each other...

   The real treat of the whole show wasn't the bad ass 4 piston brakes from Hayes or the totally sweet Shock Pivot Replacement bushings from Wheels Manufacturing, it was hanging out with Corrosion's parents. They were really nice and I think we are going to do RAGBRAI in each others arms. I don't know why Corrosion came out so Surly :)

  I have to say that the best stuff at the show for Shockspital was the products from Wheels Manufacturing. If you are a bicycle mechanic, these guys are your new best friend.
